Join in Awareness Day Activities

Plan now to be part of EITC Awareness Day on Friday, January 27, 2012 - a national grassroots effort spotlighting this potentially life-changing tax credit. Join with other charitable organizations, elected officials, state and local governments, employers and other interested parties in your community to generate extensive mainstream and social media coverage on this day.

IRS estimates four of five eligible taxpayers claim and get their EITC. You can help increase those numbers. See more of our Key Messages for 2012.

EITC is a financial boost for working people in a recovering economy. EITC can put up to $5,751 into the pockets of eligible taxpayers (even more if they live in a state with a similar state credit).

This is money taxpayers can use to make their lives a little easier now or money they can put away for a rainy day. With a simple check of a box, taxpayers can convert their income tax refunds into I Savings Bonds.

But, taxpayers must file and claim the credit to receive it. And, that all begins with awareness of EITC.

Please plan to be part of this national outreach day. Many tools and resources will be available to support you. Most will be available in this online toolkit by late December.
