300 job vacancies at IRS direct hiring event for the Atlanta area for seasonal customer service positions

Atlanta, GA — The Internal Revenue Service will be holding a direct hiring event for seasonal customer service positions to fill more than 300 vacancies available at the Atlanta, GA service center on Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Dunwoody, 4401 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Chamblee, GA 30341. This event is open to the public.

What is a direct hire event?

During the event, IRS hiring officials will make job offers on-the-spot to qualified attendees who applied to the exclusive (nonpublic) announcement prior to the event. Priority consideration will be given to those job seekers that registered and then applied to the exclusive job posting prior to the event.

About the positions

Clerks and Tax Examiners

As a Contact Representative, you will work directly with taxpayers to resolve a variety of issues on their tax returns and tax accounts. One year of specialized customer service experience is required to qualify, however, a bachelor's degree (or combination of experience and education) can be substituted for the specialized experience requirement.

These entry level positions do not require prior tax experience. Our top-notch training programs will teach you everything you need to know to prepare you to be successful in these positions. Pay: GS-5 starting pay: $20.44/hr to $28.03 (after three years GS-8). Shifts: Day shifts beginning 7am – 9:30am & mid-day shifts beginning 10am – 1:30pm.
